Tips for Completing the FAFSA
It is important that you gather certain documents that will make
completing the FAFSA easier. These documents include your, your
spouse's (if married) and your parents' (if dependent):
- U.S. Income Tax Returns (if filed) or W-2 forms
- Current bank statements and investment records
- Records of untaxed income
- Records of the current value of business, farm and/or other
real estate owned and the amount owed
Also keep in mind:
- Remember that the questions are about you and your family
- Use your name as it appears on your Social Security card.
- Round off figures to the nearest dollar. Give yearly amounts.
A Personal Identification Number (PIN) is needed to electronically sign your FAFSA and is the fastest way to have your aid processed. If you don't already have a PIN, click here to apply for your PIN. If you are a dependent student your parent(s) will also need to apply for a PIN to sign your FAFSA electronically. You should also print your confirmation page for your records.
Renewal FAFSA Filers
If you have previously filed a FAFSA and are looking to speed up
the financial aid process, it is recommended that you complete Renewal
FAFSA on the Web. To get started, all you will need is the Personal
Identification Number (PIN) that was sent to you by the Department
of Education. You can learn more about the PIN process or request
a new PIN, by accessing the PIN
Registration Web site.
All DeVry students
will use FAFSA Code 010727, regardless of campus location.
Follow this link to the FAFSA
web page.
The FAFSA site will appear in its own window. To return to this
site, just close that window.
Once you've complete the FAFSA,
to continue.
NOTE: If your PC is not set up to print, or if you
choose not to print the signature page, you will receive a rejected
Student Aid Report (SAR) in about two weeks. This rejected
SAR must be signed and returned to the Department of Education.
This will delay the application process.
